In the previous lesson, we met record label marketing executives Ellie and Alex.Ellie is currently working on a marketing strategy for a band called "The Matching Lighters" and is about to have a meeting with the sales manager, Alan.

Alan :So.. what are you thinking in terms of sales targets for next year?

Ellie :As "The Matching Lighters" is a new band, we want to be realistic and hope to  sell 20,000 albums next year.

Alan: Well...I guess it's doable. I've seen similar sales figures from other rock bands, but we obviously need to consider the costs..

Ellie: What kind of costs are we talking about?

Alan: Just to give you a few examples, recording of the album would be one, so we would have the cost of the studio, for example, as one of the direct costs.
Ellie: Ok..

Alan: Another thing would be the indirect costs, I mean some extra costs such as an assistant for the band, food maybe, transport etc.

Ellie: okay or try to get in touch with the band manager and discuss the details
