Recently white tea is becomingmore and more popular day by day.White tea is produced from the buds and younger leaves of the tea plant. White tea is known to maintain most of the natural compounds that are found in the living plant itself thereby making it more precious for its strong antioxidant property. In Chinese history white tea was known as Emperor’s drinkand the common people were not allowed to drink it. Recently it was also available to common people but still very rare and expensive.
Tea as powerful antioxidant:
Antioxidants in tea protect and save the heart and other organs from getting injured from Oxygen free radicals by neutralizing them.

Tea is the most common, popular and favorite beverage in the world. The antioxidant property of tea is the key element that protects heart and helps in combating stroke (brain attack) as claimed by the recent researchers. For those who had heart attacks in the past, regular consumption of the tea is recommended to protect their heart. Mukamal and his co-authors analyzed that the heavy tea drinking heart patients had a 44% lower mortality rate than the non-tea drinkers. One Dutch study stated that drinking 3 to 4 cups tea in a day lowers the risk of death from coronary heart disease by 58%.
Black and green tea is the favorite drink in China and Japan. Regular systematic consumption of unadulterated pure tea may be accredited for comparativelybringing down the rate of coronary heart disease among these people.
Types of tea:
All kinds of tea originate from the same plant camellia Simensis. There arealtogether four types of tea depending upon the grade of their processing.

They are
Green tea, Зеленый чай
Black tea, Черный чай
Oolong tea - Улун, или цин ча — полуферментированный чай, который по китайской классификации занимает промежуточное положение между зелёным и «красным». По классификации по степени ферментации ферментируется на 50 %.
white tea.
Green tea is less processed and is not oxidized but partially fermented.
Black tea is oxidized and fermented.
Oolong tea is partially oxidized and falls somewhere between green and black tea. All the tea whether oxidized or not preserve their antioxidants in them.

Tea as powerful antioxidant:
Antioxidants in tea protect and save the heart and other organs from getting injured from Oxygen free radicals by neutralizing them.
Oxygen free radicals are formed in our body as byproducts of metabolism. They can damage our body including our heart at the cellular level, at the level of Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
Tea contains antioxidants in abundant than in any other beverage, besides tea we can also get antioxidants from broccoli ,garlic-чеснок, carrots, apples, grapes, grapefruit, red wine and etc. .

Polyphenols and flavonids are antioxidants found in tea. Catechins are the type of flavonoid which is present in all types of tea and much abundant in green tea.
Epigallocatcheingallate (EGCG) (Галлат эпигаллокатехина (EGCG) — это тип катехина, содержащийся в больших количествах в чае) is a powerful antioxidant in green tea 100 times more effective than vitamin C and 25 times effective than vitamin E and two times more effective than the resveratrol found in red wine.It is believed that EGCG can reduce cell death after a heart attack or stroke and helps in the recovery of damaged heart cells thus saving the damaged heart.
Tea protects heart in the following way:
1. Tea is the natural ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor and repressesangiotensine II, thereby lowers high blood pressure.
2. The polyphenols are powerful antioxidants that inhibit the oxidation of LDL or bad cholesterol slowing the process of atherosclerosis.
3. Both polyphenols and flavonoids have anticlotting effects. Their activities are just like that of aspirin.
4. Tea has anti-inflammatory actions. Flavonoids in tea relax blood vessels improving blood vessel function.
The antioxidant property of tea helps to lower cholesterol, high blood pressure and keeps the blood vessels healthy due to its anti-inflammatory action thereby protecting heart from coronary heart disease( CHD) and stroke. It is stated that women after menopause who drink as little as one or two small cup of black tea a day were 54 percent less likely to have severe atherosclerosis that may lead to heart attacks. Tea should be considered as an aid to other tools of life style changes. Healthy life style changes include reducing weight, taking regular aerobic exercise, quitting smoking, adopting heart healthy diet like cutting down red and organ meat, high cholesterol dairy products, increasing the consumption of oily fish the rich source of omega 3 fatty acids, eating fruit, vegetable, pulses and using appropriate cooking oil like sunflower oil, canola oil, safflower oil, soybean oil and etc. For the promising therapeutic effect of tea in preventing CHD researchers have to explore more and more about the tea benefits of heart
