Practise speaking about companies and business leaders

Erin Ledger was an entrepreneur in the cosmetics industry who created her own beauty store.

Try breaking the word into sounds with their spelling: "entre" "pre" "neur".

Primo Sassari is a leader and management guru who makes inspirational speeches.

"A guru" is an expert on a particular (особым, конкретным)  subject who gives advice or influences people on it 

Гуру" является экспертом по конкретной теме, который дает советы или влияет на людей на него.

François Pommier was a real estate magnate, who was famous for his property (собственность) empire.(собственной империи)

"A magnate" is someone who has earned a lot of money from a particular business or industry.

Stephanie Lord is a tenacious leader who did not give up easily when building her first company.

If you are "tenacious", you are very determined and don't give up easily.

Luther Sedgwick created a global corporation. He also established a non-profit to provide education to the poor.

"A corporation" is a large company or group of companies. 

"A non-profit" aims to make money for a social cause.

Ernesto Sanz created an LLC, which became a global corporation.

Remember, "an LLC" is the short way of saying "a limited liability company".

The magnate's first business was "a limited liability company".

Try to remember "liable" - "liability", like "able" - "ability".

Chef and writer Effi Maridou created her first company as a sole proprietorship.

"A sole proprietorship" is a company with only one owner.

Entrepreneur Ella French enjoyed having full responsibility for her sole proprietorship.

Try breaking the word into syllables (pro-pri-e-tor-ship) to remember the spelling.

Kash and Radha Varma created their first company as a partnership in 1979.

"A partnership" is a company that is owned by two or more people.

Meghan Manny was resourceful (нахадчивая)  in finding ways to communicate her ideas in difficult circumstances.

If you are "resourceful", you are good at finding ways of doing things or solving problems using what you have.

Nin Chen created a cooperative with others in her village. It was so successful, it become a national franchise with one in every major city.

Нин Чен создала кооператив вместе с другими жителями своей деревни. Он оказался настолько успешным, что стал национальной франшизой, с отделениями в каждом крупном городе.

"A cooperative" is owned by its workers. "A franchise" is a business using an established brand.

War-torn- разорённый войной, охваченный войной

War-torn — это прилагательное, описывающее место, которое сильно пострадало от войны. Оно используется для обозначения городов, стран или регионов, которые подверглись значительным разрушениям и страданиям из-за военных действий.

Примеры употребления:

1. В контексте города:

Заключение:
