Listen to Noah and George's conversation.

"What's up with you? George all? OK. You've been down this week Well. It's work. I used to feel so excited about going to work but that's all gone. Now with the new management I feel constrained - can't make my own decisions. Can't be creative. It doesn't make any sense. I get what you mean. Well. I wonder If it is time to move on. I like the motivation to continue working here."

"Oh, come on. It's not that serious. You've worked your way up to reach this position. Don't give all of that up just because there have been some changes".

"Hmm That true. But you know I had some nice job offers two years ago. If I had left, I wouldn't be stuck in this position now. I stayed back because I was promised a leadership position."

" Well, that's all in the past. I also think about opportunities. I've let go if I'd taken that job in New York, I would have retired by now. But well I'm not one to be lost in pointless dreams. Hmm, right."

George seems upset about something...-True =George feels constrained at work because of the new management.

-to get the hang of something = to learn the skills that are needed to do something

-to work your way up = to progress towards something better

-to lack motivation = to not have the desire to do anything

How do you feel when you feel "constrained"? =     forced to do something - заставляют что-то делать

-Rearrange the sentence - Приведи в порядок предложение. = I have worked my way up to reach this position.

I just feel like Arun lacks the motivation to work here anymore.

-Complete the sentence with two words so that it means "to feel like being forced to do something".= It's not a good sign when you feel constrained at work.

-Complete the sentence with three words so that it means "to progress towards something better".=

George worked his way up to be a general manager. But his efforts weren't valued by his superiors.

-How do you feel when you feel "constrained"?=

George believes that he would be in a better position if he had accepted another job offer in the past. TRUE -George said that if he had left for the other job, he wouldn't be stuck in this position now.        -Noah is thinking about lost opportunities as well. "Well, that's all in the past. I also think about opportunities. I've let go if I'd taken that job in New York, I would have retired by now. But well I'm not one to be lost in pointless dreams. Hmm, right."Ну, это все в прошлом. Did you notice?                                                                                          When Noah or George mentioned what they could have done in the past, they used unreal conditionals.                                                                Unreal conditionals describe hypothetical or imaginary situations in the past and present.

If you felt bored with your job, it would be a good idea to upskill yourself.

If I had left in 2012, I would have earned a fortune in artificial intelligence. (искусственный интеллект)

"If Luna had spend less in a 20s, she would have saved much more."- Luna has saved up a lot of money over the years. FALSE

"If Luna had spent less in her 20s" suggests a hypothetical situation and it means she spent a lot of money in her 20s.

-Complete these sentences which refer to imaginary past situations.

If I'd negotiated my raise when I joined I'd have paid off my student loans by now. Если бы я договорился о своей прибавке, когда присоединился Я бы уже выплатил свои студенческие кредиты.

I wouldn't have accepted this job offer...if I'd have known about toxic work culture. Я бы не согласилась на эту работу...если бы я знал о токсичной рабочей культуре.

If you felt constrained at work, it ______ a good idea to talk to your superiors.-Since we are talking about an imaginary situation in the present, we use the form "would be".-                                                                       

If I had got the hang of it then, I wouldn't have struggled to make sense of my responsibilities. = Since we are talking about an imaginary situation in the past, we use the past perfect form "had got".

I could negotiate some time off with HR if I felt that Iacked (отсутствие) the motivation to do anything at work. Я мог бы договориться о некотором отпуске с кадровиком, если бы чувствовал, что у меня нет мотивации делать что-либо на работе.

Since we are talking about an imaginary situation in the present, we use the form "would be".
