1. exploring – исследование, изучение, разведка;
   ходить, смотреть, пробовать, чтобы понять и узнать новое.

2. computer-based – на компьютере, с использованием компьютера.

3. on paper – на бумаге, в традиционной форме (с ручкой и бумагой).

10. conversation – разговор, беседа.
    A 15-minute conversation with an examiner.

Слово exploring в английском языке означает исследование, изучение, разведку,  ходить, смотреть, пробовать, чтобы понять и узнать новое.— то есть активный процесс, когда человек куда-то идёт, смотрит, пробует, чтобы узнать что-то новое.

exploring = ходить, смотреть, пробовать, чтобы понять и узнать новое.

The term "completely computer-based" means all candidates take the TOEFL exam on a computer.

The IELTS test can be taken on paper in the traditional way.

You can do the reading, writing and listening sections of the IELTS exam on paper, or as a computer-based exam.

The phrase "on paper" means candidates write their answers with a pen on a physical exam paper.

The TOEFL exam is taken as a computer-based test. All skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) are tested in one session on the same day. The speaking exam for the TOEFL exam involves seeing prompts on the screen and recording your answers.

For IELTS, you can take the listening, reading and writing parts of the exam either as a computer-based test or on paper.

For TOEFL, it's possible to take the computer-based test at home or at an official test centre, but for IELTS it's most likely you'll take the exam at a test centre.
Important: If you are taking your exam for a university application, make sure you check if the university will accept a home version of the exam.

Face-to-face means that you have to be physically present with an examiner.

The IELTS speaking exam takes about 15 minutes and is done face to face with an examiner.

IELTS speaking exams are always a conversation "face to face", but this can also now happen online.
