Let's recap!
In this lesson we're going to review some of the language we've learned in the last few lessons to talk about the impact(влияние) something has on us. We'll also use some examples of inversion to emphasise(подчеркнуть) strong feelings(чувства) we have.

Here's how it works when we create an inversion to emphasise that a place is special:

I studied economics and finance at college. I hadn't really considered(считала) what I wanted to do with my life, but suddenly I was graduating and I needed a well-paid job to pay off(погасить) my student loans. My colleagues were nice, but I soon realised I had no passion for my job. I fantasised about changing careers, but I was too scared(напугана) to quit(уволиться). Recently I went to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London and it had a considerable impact(значительное влияние) on me. Part of the exhibition was around the theme of "photojournalism" and I was horrified(в ужасе) by what I saw. Don't get me wrong, the photos were incredible, but what upset me were the images of animal exploitation related(связанные) to tourism. I suddenly felt very ashamed(пристыженным) of myself – I have really vivid (наглядные, яркие)memories of riding an elephant in Thailand when I was younger.
